Location. The Hotel Alinari is located in central Florence, Italy 200 metres from fashionable shopping boutiques, 500 metres from the Duomo complex and 800 metres from the famed Ponte Vecchio. Santa Maria Novella train station is 200 metres from the hotel, and the nearest city bus stop is within 250 metres. Amerigo Vespucci Airport (FLR) is five kilometres away.
Hotel Features. This four storey hotel is situated in an historic Forentine Palazzo, with tiled flooring and arched doorways. The 24 hour front desk has multilingual staff on hand to assist with booking advance tickets to the city's museums. Room service is available around the clock. Motorists will find parking on site (surcharge).
A complimentary buffet style breakfast is served each morning. The neighbouring piazzas offers numerous restaurants serving Florentine and Tuscan specialities.
Bicycles and scooters can be hired in the area. The local golf driving range offers an alternative to sightseeing.
Guestrooms. The 28 air conditioned rooms offer satellite television, direct dial telephones, minibars and dial up Internet ports. From Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR):
Distance to the Hotel Alinari is five kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis into the city centre cost approximately 15 EUR. An airport bus departs for Florence's Santa Maria Novella Station, 200 metres from the hotel, every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. Terravision coaches travel to central Florence. Tickets cost 12 EUR, and the price includes a one day pass for Florence's city buses. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre, and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Tickets are sold based on length of time, and are available for one, two or 24 hours. There is a taxi rank in front of Santa Maria Novella Station.
